Chatham July 4th Parade 2016

Wonderful weather greeted the Model A club this year for the Chatham Fire Dept July 4th parade. We met at Matt and Deb Petitjean’s for coffee, pastries, and doughnuts. Neighbors and friends stopped to admire the cars. A Model T touring and a 31 Chrysler stopped by as well. When we were ready to go, we were a group of 6 cars. With Matt’s kids, Sarah, Adam, and friend Tess in a rumble seat, we headed around the corner to the lineup for the parade. At 10:30am the cannons fired and the parade was off well, the front of the parade was anyway. After about 45 minutes, we made the turn onto Main Street, and were greeted by thousands of kids, and generations of families, lined up 3-5 rows deep the entire length of the 1 mile route. The patriotic crowd waved flags, offered thumbs up, and cheers. There were lots of Ahoogas, whistles, and beeps. Kids and families admired the cars as we headed (slowly) down the street Matt and Deb would like to thank all of the members for joining us in Chatham’s quintessential small town celebration of Independence day. We are grateful for your companionship and sharing the happiness of the day. We hope you will join us next year – and for many more.
