The Model A Ford Club of New Jersey Secretary's Minutes April 2026 Submitted by David Volosin
The 709 th meeting of the MAFCNJ was called to order at 7:30 pm on the 6 th of April by Vice President Ed Saniewski who opened with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. There were 34 members present.
Vice President's Report:
Ed Saniewski’s first Garage Clinic for 2026 was held on Saturday, March 28 th . Fifteen people showed up to assist with five cars needing service. We performed brake jobs and exhaust repair with a couple of other minor issues needing attention.
John Morgan’s Poker Run is on Sunday, April 19 th, which will start at the Dunkin Donuts in the Rockaway Mall at 10:00 AM. Be there early where you will pull your first playing card from the deck. We will wrap up with a late lunch at the Irish Cottage in Franklin.
The May Mystery Tour will be late in the month of May. Stay tuned for details.
A good number of people will be going on the MARC Finger Lakes Tour from May 11 th -14 th .
Ed Saniewski set a gathering place at the Dunkin Donuts on route 206 in Newton at 8:00 am.
Jim Dunlap’s visit to the Boonton Fireman’s Home has been set for Friday, June 12 th and we will meet again at the Red Barn on Route 202 at 10 AM.
Keith Heyman will be providing additional updated information via email regarding hotel contact information for the Vest Pocket Tour to Boothbay Maine.
Gymkhana will once again be at Pochuck Valley Farms. We will start at 10:00 am. Host Richard Smith requests that we arrive early to have breakfast at the venue in appreciation for them allowing us to use their property.
2 nd Vice President's Report:
John Morgan hosted a new parade opportunity on Saturday, March 7 th in Newton. Four of our cars showed up on a slightly wet and overcast day. Though not as many spectators showed up for this event as at the usual
Newton parades, it is still a good opportunity for our club, and we will do it again. Let’s try for a better attendance next year.
The May 25 th Memorial Day Parade in Newton will again be hosted by Brian and RonDee Lockwood. John Morgan indicated that there will be another parade invite forthcoming for Saturday, July 18 th in Sussex County. Stay tuned for more information.
Presidents Report:
Today the MAFCNJ is celebrating its 68 th anniversary. Cake and Coffee followed the meeting.

Secretary’s Report:
Minutes from the March meeting #708 were approved without further questions, comments or corrections (M/S/P) as published in the April 2026 newsletter.
Membership:
59 of the 65 members who paid dues in 2025 have been renewed. The 2026 roster will now be published.
Good & Welfare:
Get-Well wishes were extended to Nelson Gravenstede on behalf of the club.
Newsletter:
Matt Petitjean requests that as the touring season picks up, please submit articles pertaining to our activities on a timely basis to add related content and detail to the newsletter. Don’t forget to take pictures during our events that can be submitted directly to Matt by email or posted on our Facebook page where he can access them for newsletter publication.
National Coordinator:
On our 68 th anniversary of the club, John notes that our organization was among the first east coast clubs to join the national and schedule an east coast national meet in Atlantic City (signified by the white star on our flag).
John has been our club coordinator and has been submitting regular write ups since 2013. Thank you, John, for your service.
New Business:
Ed presented MARC milage awards to Ed Olszewski - 25,000 miles and Jim Dunlap - 65,000 miles.
For Sale:
Dave Volosin has a set of home fabricated replica 1931 Model A Running Boards made of galvanized steel and a Vintage aftermarket Running Board Luggage Rack designed to fit either Model T’s or Model A’s.
