In 2024 our club Newsletter and Website made an editor transfer. Many, many thanks to Joan Kimball and the extensive amount of hard work she donated to the club over the years. With this transfer our Newsletter and website required new tooling for transfer of materials and publishing. The transfer from the previous software allows for some new technical additions and updating to the website.
Moving forward, one addition allows us to save articles on the website backend that are searchable to members and non-members interested in learning about the Ford Model A. We can now share current members knowledge between ourselves for cross reference along with the ability to entice non-members about the Model A and join our club.
For this introduction article I was asked to share a little of my background. First off, I’m the proud owner of a 1930 Model A Truck. I purchased it October 2020 from a dear friend that has since passed. The truck was in great condition but some of the problems I experienced over the last 5 years inspired me to find and join the MAFCNJ for assistance with my new venture.
My wife Lisa and I have lived in Basking Ridge for the past 34 years. We have three grown children and three grandchildren. I grew up between Ridgewood New Jersey and St. John’s Newfoundland & Labrador. For my professional career I worked in the North Atlantic on an Off-Shore Oil Exploratory Rig, New York City Computer & Telecommunications industries and the last 39 years in the Life Science R&D industry. The last eight years my main focus has been in the fermentation sector for molecular biology grade systems catering to Biotech creating vaccines and therapeutics, the AGRO sector making additives, and laboratories working in many R&D scientific areas. 2025, is my semi-retirement year so timing allows me to assist time with the newsletter and article series.
In our first letter in the series, I asked you “What’s In Your Model A Go-To Travel Kit?” Other letters will touch base on subjects that we all have experienced at one time or another; such as but not only: distributors, carburetors, starter Bendix, points, etc.
I’m excited about being a member of our club and look forward to continued learning and sharing about our common joy for the Model A.
Make Your Day Great!!!
